Mike Shea has greatly exceeded all of our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for a better real estate agent to help us through the buying and selling processes!  
We are a married couple in our 30s and were looking to relocate from our condo to a single-family house as we planned to grow our family in the coming years.  Neither of us had any experience in selling a property, and we had very limited experience in purchasing real estate.  With this in mind, we contacted Mike in January 2020 (pre-COVID) to help us prepare to sell our condo and help us find and purchase a single-family home.  Mike immediately scheduled a time to meet with us in person to walkthrough our condo and to advise us on how to best prepare the condo for pictures and showings.  He came to the meeting prepared with some recent comparable condo sales in the area to give us an idea of the best asking price for the condo.  Mike was extremely helpful and patient in answering all of our questions, and really helped us understand the buying/selling process, and what to expect along the way.  

Buying Process:
Early in the year (February 2020) when we were just beginning to attend open houses in our search for a single-family home, we found a house that was too good to pass on.  Despite not feeling fully prepared to make an offer (and not yet having a pre-approval in hand), Mike went above and beyond in leading us through the offer process, even introducing us to a loan officer on a bank holiday to help us to get a pre-approval that same day.  With Mike’s help, we were able to get everything prepared and submitted in time, and put forth a very competitive offer that we felt comfortable with.  Ultimately our offer on this house was not accepted  but Mike did everything he could to put us in the best position possible in making our offer in a very short period of time
Shortly after COVID hit and throughout the spring, open houses were essentially non-existent resulting in us putting our house search on hold for a few months.  Despite this, Mike made sure to check in regularly to see how we were doing and to ensure that we were ready to continue our housing search with no delays when the time was right again.
In late June, when things were opening back up again, we identified another house we wanted to tour.  Mike helped us through the new process of scheduling time with the seller’s realtor and made sure everyone stayed safe and followed COVID protocols for the viewing.  Mike even volunteered to come to the house tour with us to walkthrough the house and make real time observations and suggestions with us.  During the tour, he asked very thoughtful questions of the seller’s realtor that we would not have thought about on our own.  Mike was very helpful in working with us to weigh the pros and cons when making  our offer and to make the offer as competitive as possible.  After weighing all of our options, we elected not to move forward with an offer on this house, but Mike did an excellent job of coaching us through the process, and helping us conclude that this was not the house that we were looking for. 
In early August, we saw a listing of a newly renovated house that seemed perfect for us in every way.  We immediately contacted Mike to schedule a time for the viewing.  While there was an open house period scheduled for the upcoming weekend, Mike suggested that we view the house as soon as possible, to allow us more time to consider and prepare an offer.  Mike arranged a time with the seller’s realtor and once again came with us to the walkthrough, providing his expertise and advise when we visited  the property.  Upon seeing the house in person, we immediately fell in love with it, and following our appointment on Friday, we asked Mike if we could see the house again on Saturday, as we wanted to bring along a contractor friend to view the house with us.  Mike again worked with the seller’s realtor to schedule an appointment the following morning, and came with us a second time when we attended the appointment.  Following the two visits to the property, and based on the observations and advice of our contractor friend, we decided to put in an offer on the house.  Mike helped us decide on the best price as well as other important details (such as an inspection for information only, and a quick closing date) to make our offer as enticing as possible.  He also helped us draft a letter to the seller to create a more personal connection to the house.  By the end of the weekend, we had received word that our offer was accepted, with the main reasons being the personal letter as well as the other details previously mentioned.  Needless to say, we were thrilled!  
As we went through the process from accepted offer to closing, Mike helped a great deal every step of the way.  He would follow up with the bank or the seller’s realtor on our behalf when things seemed like they were falling behind schedule.  Additionally, we had a small setback during the process when the appraisal came in lower than expected.  Mike helped us work through an updated offer with the seller, and revised our paperwork with the bank as quickly as possible.  Our initial reaction to the appraisal was that we may be losing our dream house, however Mike helped us to navigate through this setback, and we actually ended up with a better deal as a result of the re-negotiation. 
Once we completed the closing process, and the house was ours, Mike continued to help us as we prepared to move into the house.  He offered up several trusted contractor contacts to help us with some small projects to be completed before we moved in (carpenter, roofer).  He made himself available to come to the house when they did to make introductions and ensure that we were well taken care of.   

Selling Process:
After we completed the purchase of the new home, we prepared to put our condo on the market.  Mike had previously arranged to take pictures and a video walkthrough by a professional photographer, as well as he prepared the property description writeup, so he had everything ready to go for the condo listing, which he was able to post right away.  After this, Mike worked with us to schedule open houses, and talked through our preferences relative to COVID protocols to make sure we were fully comfortable with the entire process. 
Mike handled the open houses with the utmost professionalism, even making a minor repair with super glue that he noticed while setting up for our first open house!  The first round of open houses attracted a lot of interest, but no offers.  Mike followed up with several attendees to see if there were any sticking points that concerned them.  Mike also continued to schedule several one-off showings for interested parties, also asking them what their concerns were when they didn’t make an offer.  From these inquiries, Mike was able to identify a change we could make to our listing, and arranged another round of open houses.  While this 2nd round didn’t garner as much interest, it did result in 2 very competitive offers.  Ultimately, we accepted one of the offers, which was at our asking price.  
From the time of the accepted offer through the closing date, Mike continued to go above and beyond in helping finalize the sale.  He arranged all the final inspections, even offering to help complete a final contingency repair without us present when a family emergency significantly limited our availability.  Mike also was thoughtful enough to bring an extra carbon monoxide detector to our fire inspection in case our existing one was not operating properly.  He followed up with all necessary parties to ensure the process ran smoothly and on time.  
Conclusion:
Looking back on our journey of buying a new house and selling our condo, we went through a lot of ups and downs in the process, however Mike was there every step of the way, coaching us through the process, answering all of our questions, no matter what day or time of day it was.  Mike truly went above and beyond throughout the process, and as a result, we would highly recommend his services to anyone else going through the buying/selling process.  Thank you, Mike, for all that you did for us, we greatly appreciate everything!
